About
Hi, I’m Sarah Nguyen and I started sarahng.com to document my study abroad experience from beginning to end, and to provide useful advice for other students who might want to go abroad. Currently I am a Vietnamese-American high school student attending Lynbrook High School in San Jose, California, but soon enough I’ll be in Europe!
More personal: I daydream. I obsess, ohhh do I obsess. And as quickly as the obsession arrives, it disappears into thin air. Recent ones include the Dell XPS M1330, mark cosmetics, and my SAT Guide. Ongoing ones include my Bösendorfer 185 and zenhabits.
My current hobbies, interests and going-ons include: (resisting expensive yet) cute clothes, (putting off) homework, and (neglecting) video games. In short, I’m just a normal teenager, contrary to what I’d like to think.
Don’t hesitate to contact me, even if you’ve never really talked to me before, haven’t talked to me in a while, or don’t even know me. Don’t let fear of committing a faux pas stop us have having a fascinating discussion about the merits of Orlando Bloom (not my type), whether or not Windows Vista is doomed to the same fate as Windows ME/2000 (well it looks good at least), and exactly how long Blizzard will make us wait for
StarCraft 2 (FOREVER).

Dear Sarah,
I’ve been looking for some interesting CBYX websites and I found your blog via Google a few days ago. I did the same program from August 2006 until July 2007 - with the difference that I took part in the CBYX for Young Professionals which is slightly different than the CBYX for highschool students.
It was fun to read your posts so far and I’m sure that you are going to have a great time over here. I spent my year in Cincinnati, OH but I also passed San Jose during my final trip at the end of my year.
It seems that you have done a lot of research on Germany already. Since I am a member of the CBYX Alumni organization, I will follow our successors and help whenever I can. So, if you have any questions, I’m glad to any e-Mail!
I’ll put your RSS feed into my Google Reader to what kind of experience you are going to have.
Have a great time!
Christian from Olpe/Germany
Thanks a lot for that comment, Christian - you’re the second college exchanger to get in touch with me and it’s really encouraging to hear from you guys. At least it’s making me seek out info on if a college exchange would be possible for me, too! If I am placed near Olpe at all or am in the area, I will definitely contact you again.
-Sarah
Vista is not the next ME. I wrote an entry about it.
